Praxisbuch AMDP

The updated and expanded edition of the practical book provides information on the possibilities of assessment using the AMDP system and its various applications in research and practice. The volume first introduces the fundamentals of the AMDP system for clinical use. This includes a discussion of the methodological foundations, specifically the different ways of assessment at the symptom, syndrome, and diagnosis levels. Additionally, common issues encountered when applying the system are addressed. The new edition includes a section on special patient groups, discussing the use of the AMDP system in psychosomatics and geriatric psychiatry, as well as among individuals with intellectual disabilities and those with a migration background.

A section on specific application areas focuses on the various uses of the system in research and practice, such as in assessments, psychotherapy, or therapy evaluation. The section on education, training, and continuing education discusses the possibilities for training and knowledge transfer using the AMDP system in different clinical contexts, including nursing education. Finally, selected disorder groups, such as schizophrenia, depression, mania, PTSD, eating disorders, and ADHD, are exemplarily presented to illustrate how a psychopathological assessment can be formulated based on the findings obtained with the AMDP system.
