The 3rd updated edition of the textbook optimally prepares medical students and physicians in training for the examination subject of laboratory diagnostics/clinical chemistry. It not only imparts fundamental knowledge but, above all, emphasizes the practical application of rational and systematic laboratory diagnostics in the organ systems and pediatrics. The first part presents the most important organ and metabolic systems (such as carbohydrate metabolism, kidney and urinary tract systems, immune system) in a uniform manner concerning their laboratory diagnostic parameters, with selected laboratory parameters and diseases listed at the beginning of each chapter.
