Product details

Explosive strength is crucial for many sports. In exercise science, the effectiveness of various training methods in the area of explosive strength is debated. Complex Training is a training variant that combines traditional strength training and plyometric exercises in one session to achieve a synergistic effect from the two training methods. A key component for the effectiveness of Complex Training is post-tetanic potentiation (PTP). The phenomenon of PTP is based on a neuromuscular pre-activation triggered by weight exercises, which can lead to a temporarily greater force output during the subsequent plyometric exercise. The goals and questions of this study are to examine the short-term effects of PTP and long-term adaptations to training using PTP. Additionally, the practical application of PTP in training and before competitions is documented.
