The relationship between film and photography is being redefined, especially since the advent of digital technology: movement and stillness, film and photography, blend into one another, and the boundaries between the media become blurred. The historical and current relationship between both media is explored through post-production: How can film and photography be understood in this context? Where do differences and similarities lie? Is there an interplay? The focus is on the exchange process and the aesthetic experimentation between film and photography. This volume documents the results of an interdisciplinary conference at the Seminar for Film Studies at the University of Zurich, which addressed this question and the media of film and photography in the context of their post-production.
