Information about the series: Pluspunkt Deutsch - Leben in Deutschland is tailored for learners with a migration background in integration courses funded by the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees. The practical everyday topics and differentiated learning offers are based on the realities of migrants' lives. The teaching material focuses on areas such as visiting authorities, searching for housing and jobs, and family. Learners practice important phrases and grammatical structures to gain linguistic confidence.

The teaching material consists of three main volumes or six parts. Each main volume can be worked through in 160 to 200 teaching units. In line with the new framework curriculum of 2017, some components of the teaching material have been supplemented with new content in a second edition, including the areas of work, job search, and vocational training. Additionally, the second edition addresses the topics of diversity and interculturality to convey values, promoting constructive coexistence and a better understanding of cultures.

The course books, which include a video DVD, feature richly illustrated introductory pages for each new lesson. Speaking exercises on the Speaking Active pages at the end of each chapter serve to automate learning. A "How to" page summarizes the learning material. Four stations are available for playful review. The appendix includes partner pages, phonetics (Volumes A1 and A2), a model test for the DTZ (Volume B1), video pages, an alphabetical word list, and an overview of irregular verbs. The video DVD presents humorous scenes depicting everyday situations in Germany and can be used both in class and during self-study phases.
