Pluspunkt Deutsch - Leben in Deutschland is tailored for learners with a migration background in the integration courses funded by the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees.

The practical everyday topics and differentiated learning opportunities are connected to the realities of migrants' lives. The teaching material focuses on areas such as visiting authorities, searching for housing and jobs, as well as family. Learners practice important phrases and grammatical structures to gain linguistic confidence.

The teaching material consists of three main volumes or six part volumes. Each main volume can be worked through in 160 to 200 teaching units.

In line with the new framework curriculum of 2017, some components of the teaching material (course books and audio) have been supplemented with new content in a second edition, including the areas of work, job search, and vocational training. Furthermore, the second edition takes into account the topics of diversity and interculturality for value transmission, aiming to promote constructive coexistence and a better understanding of cultures.

The course books come with an inserted video DVD.

The course books feature richly illustrated introductory pages that introduce the new lesson. The speaking exercises on the speaking-active pages at the end of each chapter serve to automate learning. A "How to" page summarizes the learning material.

Four stations are available for playful repetition.

In the appendix: partner pages, phonetics (volumes A1 and A2), and model test DTZ (volume B1), video pages, an alphabetical word list, and an overview of irregular verbs.

The video DVD humorously depicts everyday situations in Germany. It can be used both in class and during self-study phases.

The workbooks with an inserted audio CD offer a comprehensive range of exercises as well as picture pages for vocabulary work.
