Anis Stern loves nothing as much as her home, the patchwork house, and her white forest. It is not only her home, but also the home of countless spirits who live hidden in nature. Thanks to a rare gift, Anis has a special connection to them: As a heart seer, she can see and hear the spirits and tries to carry on her mother's legacy as a mediator between the worlds. However, her world is suddenly threatened when her guardian wants to cut down the White Forest and a dangerous ink creature pursues her. Determined, Anis sets off on the long journey to the capital together with her faithful ghost dog Wolf. She must find her brother and ask for the king's help! However, her journey is not only a race against time, but also more adventurous and upsetting than Anis could ever have dreamed. Fortunately, she has friends at her side: humans, spirits and deities. But who can she really trust?
