Andreas Andy Hug (September 7, 1964, in Wohlen; August 24, 2000, in Tokyo) was a Swiss martial artist and winner of several championships in kickboxing, Muay Thai, Kyokushinkai, and K-1. He won the K-1 in Zurich multiple times, and in 1996, Hug won the prestigious K-1 World Grand Prix Final in Tokyo. On August 17, 2000, it was unexpectedly announced that Andy Hug had been diagnosed with leukemia. He fell into a coma on August 23 and passed away the following day at the age of 35. In Wohlen, his hometown, a memorial was inaugurated three years after his death, designed by his wife Ilona. Andy Hug's life was documented in the 1996 documentary "Andy Hug - From Rocky to Samurai.".
