The Struggle for Prestige, Status, and Reputation

Classes permeate our entire lives: our values, our feelings, our friendships and relationships, our tastes and lifestyles, our professions, and our finances. It is a topic that likely concerns everyone. Hanno Sauer explores the origins of our notions of class and status, how they shape our society, and how many classes actually exist. Engaging and captivating, he describes how the latest scientific findings are revolutionizing our understanding of society.

“Smartly written, entertaining, and a prompt to question one’s own beliefs.” The jury of the German Non-Fiction Prize on Morality: The Invention of Good and Evil

“A brilliant and insightful overview.” THE TIMES on Hanno Sauer's bestseller Morality: The Invention of Good and Evil

Review
