Important theoretical foundations are systematically presented: phonological knowledge, phonetics and phonemics, the physiology of hearing, auditory perception, the development of phonemic awareness, phonetic analysis, and the formation of a phonetic culture as necessary support for the development of phonemic awareness in students. Some international practices, validated in the laboratory and in the professional practice of dozens of teachers, are explained as a result of research conducted within the framework of master's theses under the author's guidance, aimed at providing leaders and teachers with new knowledge to enrich their pedagogical resources for their daily work. The text is of interest to teachers, educational managers, speech therapists, language therapists, social workers, and parents in general with young children.
