Digitalisation is not just a technical event, but is a powerful cultural process that affects all areas of life. The realisation that socio-technical processes can be shaped allows for a fundamental reflection on the new possibilities for action and impositions from both an individual and collective perspective. What challenges arise for our established convictions and social practices in the processes of responsibility, understanding, reason and power? The articles analyse current developments in digitalisation and contribute to an enlightened public discussion about (un)desirable technocultural futures in the light of provisional standards of practical reason.
