Philosophische Anthropologie und Religion

How can a systematic consideration of religion be brought together with the question of the human being without it boiling down to the classic argument about whether human beings are religious 'by nature' or not? That is the central question of this book. To this end, various studies on religious experiences or experiences of the sacred are related to different versions of philosophical anthropology. The starting point is attempts to describe religious experiences and feelings phenomenologically and to interpret them philosophically or theologically. Subsequently, the question of the socio-cultural articulation of such experiences, their relationship to the consciousness of their own historicity and to discursive practice is posed. Finally, it is discussed whether the talk of religious values is suitable for capturing the specific content of such experiences without having to get involved in the question of the existence of divine entities. Overall, all articles touch on the question of what role religiosity can play in the life context of human persons.
