Philosophie der Verkörperung

When people think of "cognition", most think of the brain, computer models or information processing. In the real world, however, we only ever encounter beings with bodies that are integrated into and active in an environment. Cognition does not take place in the head, but in the world. This is the basic idea of the philosophy of embodiment. The turn towards body and environment represents perhaps one of the most far-reaching new orientations of modern cognitive science and philosophy, which will also shape our understanding of science and culture. This volume gathers the basic texts on this topic for the first time in German and thus offers an excellent overview of this new field of research.
