The pests associated with vegetable types and the damage and disease symptoms they cause are described. Guidelines for preventive measures and direct control are provided. In addition to the pests (viruses, bacteria, fungi, animal pests), the damage caused by cultural errors or weather influences is also addressed. With the aim of providing as comprehensive a representation as possible, references are made to the diseases and pests that are particularly significant in other vegetable-growing regions of Central Europe and in areas with comparable climates, or whose introduction must be anticipated. More than 300 color illustrations facilitate the identification of the causes of damage. Information on the taxonomic classification and biology of the pests also supports the specialized section of the book.
