Hearty Palatinate cuisine, a wide selection of wines, and a cozy atmosphere: The Palatinate Forest and the German Wine Route offer many opportunities for true culinary hikes. The Rother hiking book "Palatinate Forest – Hiking & Stopping for a Bite" presents 50 circular routes that lead to rustic inns and restaurants with fine dining. The hikes traverse beautiful vineyard landscapes, pass by castles, and lead into idyllic wine-growing villages. They are a delight for all the senses!

The Palatinate Forest is the largest contiguous forest area in Germany, and the vineyard landscape on the western edge of the mild Rhine plain is referred to as the "Tuscany of Germany." The 80-kilometer-long German Wine Route runs through it, connecting charming wine-growing villages from Bockenheim in the north to Schweigen in the south at the French border. The proximity to Alsace contributes to the Palatinate way of life, with the French "savoir-vivre" already palpable.

Palatinate author Jörg-Thomas Titz has compiled 50 culinary hikes between Kaiserslautern and Alsace. Each hike includes carefully researched dining tips and information on accommodation options along the way. Precise route descriptions, detailed hiking maps with marked paths, and informative elevation profiles assist with navigation. Additionally, GPS tracks are available for download.
