Product details

The artist Peter Weber (*1944) is primarily known for his complex folds. These are the result of an experimentally developed working method combined with a grand imagination. He has created around 1,800 geometric folding structures to date: initially in paper and canvas, and later in materials such as watercolor paper, plastic, and steel. However, his felt folds, which have been created since 2001, have become particularly characteristic of Peter Weber. With these, he occupies a unique position in the field of concrete art. The publication highlights the diversity of Peter Weber's impressive folds, which also include multipart folding cycles as well as sculptures and steel reliefs. Additionally, it presents the early work of the artist, who is also active as a musician, which developed around 1970 in the tradition of Op-Art and Kinetics during his studies. Besides systematically structured reliefs, it includes shimmering image objects with ribbed glass and painted interferences with illusionistic spatial effects. Featuring contributions from Marli Hoppe-Ritter, Hsiaosung Kok, and Barbara Willert.
