System-dynamic learning environments

Documented is the pilot project on complex teaching and learning situations for the implementation of business-related scenarios using multimedia learning technologies in the field of business and administration (KLLU), which was carried out in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate from 1999 to 2002. It addresses the use of digital media in vocational school instruction. In doing so, the modeling and simulation of fundamental business structures and processes are examined. The computer is used as a cognitive tool that supports trainees in mapping and simulating business structures. A central goal is the development and elaboration of appropriate mental models for complex commercial contexts.
