Powerlines

Using powerline technology, data of any kind and at high bit rates can be transmitted over power lines. Powerline is therefore highly interesting for telephony, internet, and multimedia services. However, the advantage of being able to use existing power lines also leads to electromagnetic emissions and interference fields. After a presentation of the physical fundamentals, the constitutional relevance of the emissions is examined. Other problem areas include frequency management and electromagnetic compatibility. In addition, the study also addresses the effects of powerline emissions on humans and provides an overview of the European and international legal classification of the entire legal complex.
