Das Buch von der Liebe

In a time of conflict, fear, war, and cruelty, readers will be surprised to discover a book that is a hymn to love, stating that "all beings love one another." The simple message of this book is to open our eyes to what should be clearly recognizable but has nonetheless become unbelievable: "All beings love one another." ("Life itself is only love.") Therefore, this book does not say that people should love or lament the fact that they do not love. It also does not specify how they should be punished for their lack of love. The clear and completely Franciscan simplicity of Brother Cardenal does not show us the world as it appears in our fears and anxieties, but as it truly is. For love is not a dream: love is the fundamental law of all beings, created free to give themselves, free to participate in the infinitely creative abundance of God's gift of life. Love is the deepest and innermost core of the creative dynamic that we call life. Love is life itself in its maturity and perfection.
