Product details
Peter Hächler (1922-1999) is one of the most renowned and formally radical sculptors in Switzerland. His work is characterized by a strict geometric vocabulary of forms as well as an intuitive playfulness. After more than 20 years, a book about the artist is being published again, honoring his work from today’s perspective. Hächler's creations impress with their variety of materials. Starting in the 1970s, he began experimenting with new materials used in industry. This led to large sculptures made of concrete, plastic, cast iron, or stainless steel, many of which can still be seen in public spaces today. Many of these works were created as art-in-architecture projects. More than three dozen of Hächler's sculptures have been newly photographed for this monograph. Art historian Martino Stier presents the sculptor's oeuvre.
