Personenbezogene Unterstützung und Lebensqualität

Developing tailor-made support is a current goal in rehabilitation. In doing so, resources are to be used optimally and the quality of life of the beneficiaries is to be increased as much as possible. One instrument for these goals is the personal budget. This monetary rather than non-cash benefit has been anchored in Social Code Book IX since 2001 and a corresponding entitlement to benefits has existed since 2008. The authors illustrate the socio-political change of perspective, present the key points for a Personal Budget in an ideal-typical way and refer to international and national experiences with the new control instrument. On the basis of a pilot project carried out at the Bethel facility, they show how even so-called mentally handicapped residents of the home can determine their own lives more strongly with a personal budget. The book is aimed at lecturers and students of the Health Care Center.
