Who am I? This existential question arises for every person at some point in their life. However, the problems that a poorly developed self-identity and a negative self-image bring to learning, building social relationships, and life in general are experienced daily by you as a teacher in the field of special education focusing on intellectual development. This volume therefore offers teaching ideas and materials specifically tailored to the learning prerequisites of students with intellectual disabilities. Six thematic blocks provide students with the opportunity to engage with themselves, their personal wishes and needs, as well as their immediate social environment in a very individual way. The materials can be used both individually and as part of a project or a longer-term teaching series.
