Pantherchamäleons

The Panther Chameleon (Furcifer pardalis) is one of the most impressive and colorful chameleons in Madagascar. The extensive distribution area in the northern part of the island is inhabited by different local forms with a very high variation of spectacular color patterns, particularly displayed by the males. In years of research, authors Philip-Sebastian Gehring and Thomas Althaus have tracked numerous Panther Chameleons of various local forms and observed them in their natural habitats along the entire northern coast of Madagascar.
