Palliative care aims to improve the quality of life for patients and their families by early identification and alleviation of pain and psychosocial issues. However, homeless individuals often face barriers to accessing this crucial support. Societal stigma, distrust of the healthcare system, and unpredictable health conditions make providing care for this population particularly challenging. Additionally, substance abuse issues and the constant change of living situations complicate proactive planning and care. This book highlights the difficulties and shortcomings in the palliative care of homeless individuals. Through the voices of those affected and caregivers, it reveals perspectives aimed at achieving better and more equitable care for this often neglected group.
