What scientific insights exist regarding pedagogical quality in art education? What quality concepts are represented in practical education? What theoretical references does practice draw upon? And what conclusions can be drawn for the further development of the discourse on pedagogical quality? This book addresses these questions. It includes videographic analyses of the work of various art educators, reports on the current state of research, and draws consequences for future development. The authors highlight the importance of the discourse on pedagogical quality in art education and offer, based on the insights gained, ways to maintain and further develop this discourse. Without science, practice is not possible, and theory also benefits from accumulated practical experiences. Therefore, the authors have undertaken the task of revealing this dependency and connection. The anthology incorporates all relevant perspectives. Thus, the combination of practical reports from art educators and scientific viewpoints, along with the perspectives of aspiring theorists and practitioners, creates a coherent overall project that can change both practice and theory.
