In search of a greener world. Sisters Julia and Lisa Hermes are on a quest for a more sustainable, greener, and more solidaristic world. Hitchhiking, sailing, canoeing, biking, and walking, they head westward. Thanks to their slow pace, they experience even the small things up close: the fish schools of the Atlantic, the armadillos of the Patagonian steppe, the howler monkeys in the Amazon rainforest. An extraordinary journey filled with forward-thinking encounters. Along the way, they repeatedly encounter lived utopias. They visit indigenous communities, dropouts, eco-villages, and communes outside the conventional norms. From them, they learn what a sustainable and solidaristic future could look like and what can happen when we leave the safe harbor and set sail for new shores.
