Hardcore - or: from the non-conformity of punk to the neo-Nazi and racist lockstep. The book outlines the genesis of the HC punk scene, examines the causes of the reactionary rollback and deals with the structures and topics of the right-wing HC scene. Within the right-wing rock scene, hardcore has become increasingly popular in recent years. In addition to the music, the lifestyle adapted from the HC punk scene plays an important role. The HC scene emerged in the late 70s as a left-wing political demarcation from the punk scene with its no-future attitude. The differentiation of the HC punk scene in the 80s, which led to its depoliticisation on a broad scale, set off a reactionary rollback that continues to this day. Right-wing HC bands have been trying to occupy topics of the HC punk scene since the end of the 90s, using ideological points of contact offered to them by HC punk bands. Metaphors and subtle messages have taken the place of blatant Nazi propaganda and symbolism and dominate the current right-wing HC scene, whose appearance can hardly be distinguished from that of the HC punk bands.
