Osho (Bhagwan Shree Raijneesh) was born in India in 1931. Before becoming a spiritual teacher, he was a philosophy professor at the University of Jabalpur. Since the sixties he has been teaching special meditation techniques, with great popularity especially from Western seekers. In 1974 he founded a centre for meditation and self-awareness in Poona. From 1981 to 1987 he taught in Oregon, USA. Already during his lifetime his teachings found resonance with millions of people all over the world. Since his death in 1990, the number of his followers has continued to grow.
