Organisches Flockungshilfsmittel in der Wasseraufbereitung

Based on the need for continuous optimization of water treatment processes for supply, the study follows the line of development based on the application of potato starch, prepared hot and cold, as a treatment method. The raw water was sourced from the Pardo River, which serves the city of Frederico Westphalen and the surrounding region. Using a jar test apparatus, the main steps of water treatment in the conventional model were simulated, aluminum sulfate was used as a coagulant, and potato starch was evaluated, observing the efficiency of both isolated and combined use of the organic product. Potato starch proved to be effective when used in conjunction with aluminum sulfate, as it served as a flocculating aid to reduce the required dosage of coagulant.
