The conditions of the modern media society require hospitals today – like all organizations – to have increasingly interconnected, professionally managed, integrated communication that aligns with strategic organizational goals. In Germany, there is often talk of the Netherlands as a model in terms of the healthcare system. What role does strategic online communication play as a value-adding factor for Dutch hospitals compared to German ones? How do hospitals on both sides of the border communicate online? At the Center for Dutch Studies at WWU Münster, in cooperation with the agency lege artis, Gesellschaft für Publizistik, Kommunikation & Beratung mbH, a communication science research project on the organizational communication of German and Dutch hospitals online has been conducted. This volume summarizes the results and shows what each neighbor can learn regarding strategic communication.
