Product details

The origins of aerodynamic loads on the rotor blades of a system are diverse and complex, potentially leading to operational difficulties and damage to components. A prominent effect is the dynamic flow separation at the rotor blade, which is caused by unstable inflow conditions. This type of flow separation results in varying forces on the rotor blade that significantly exceed the expected loads. Therefore, it is of great interest to understand the processes occurring at a wing profile during dynamic flow separation. This book demonstrates how a 2D active grid is optimized for use in a test setup for dynamic flow separation experiments. Building on this, aerodynamic experiments were conducted on a NACA0006 wing profile with force and particle image velocimetry measurements, illustrating the relationship between the aerodynamics at the wing profile and the forces acting on it.
