The book "Optics of Media with Quasi-zero Refractive Index" offers a comprehensive theoretical and experimental investigation of novel nanostructured composite materials with a quasi-zero refractive index. These materials, which contain silver nanoparticles in a dielectric matrix, were synthesized by a scientific group. By pneumatically layering these materials on various surfaces, different optical phenomena were experimentally observed, including light interference in thick layers, enhanced optical transmission, and light focusing in a composite layer. The work also presents a theoretical approach to describing the optical properties of these layers as a function of their thickness and the angle of incidence of light. The results show that the refractive index of these layers can be represented as a continuous random variable in the range of quasi-zero values. The materials discussed in this book have the potential for diverse applications, including in optical instrumentation and the solar industry.
