Erwin Brosch reveals the weaknesses of current monitoring methods, particularly with regard to electric drives. He also shows how to optimise monitoring and thus also early damage detection. The author succeeds in transferring the experience of experts to monitoring. Despite the limited detailed knowledge of the prototypical electrical machines, he is able to develop a method for creating thermal simulations of constantly changing electrical drive trains. Typical sequences and processes during testing are taken into account in all the methods shown.
