Product details

William R. Forstchen (born in 1950 in New Jersey) is an American historian and author of more than 40 books. He is an expert in military and science history as well as the American Civil War. His other interests include aviation and archaeology; he has participated in several expeditions to Mongolia, Romania, and Russia. In 2009, he published the novel "One Second After," which topped the New York Times bestseller list for 12 weeks. Forstchen spent years analyzing what could actually happen in a small town as a result of an EMP attack (electromagnetic pulse). "Pillar to the Sky" was released in 2014. This science thriller depicts a Space Elevator, a massive tower that extends beyond geostationary orbit. Forstchen wrote this novel with the consultation of NASA and the Goddard Space Flight Center, as such a megaproject is indeed in planning and aims to revolutionize space transportation, America's economic and technological significance, and environmentally friendly energy generation. With "Day of Wrath" (2014), Forstchen wrote a highly charged thriller whose theme, the brutal attack of the terrorist militia ISIS on the Western world, is unfortunately not dark fiction but alarmingly current.
