The hiking guide "On Smuggler Paths" takes you to a region dedicated to quiet tourism: the area east of the Simplon Pass along the border with Italy. A well-maintained network of hiking trails on both sides of the border leads you through valleys up to passes, secluded alpine areas, and peaks that offer impressive panoramic views. You can observe ibexes, following them until you are shaken off in the increasingly steep terrain, or relax at noon by a lonely mountain lake that hides just a few minutes off the trail. The 21 tours are selected to be completed in a single day, but the suggestions can also be combined into multi-day hikes. You can spend your vacation in the region, undertaking new hikes daily from the same starting point, or hike in stages and rest each night in a different location.
