The health care of our society has increased enormously in recent decades due to medical progress. Consequently, the well-being of the patient has often been subordinated to the goal of curing diseases. Palliative medicine follows a different approach with death and dying. Especially in a palliative life situation, drugs are used outside their drug approval. For the physician, off-label use has professional, liability, social and performance law aspects. Due to this problem, the experiences made so far in off-label use remain with the treating physicians.
