Ocean

Of the origin and destination of life, inspiration and music. For his album "Ocean", pianist, composer and internet phenomenon Dirk Maassen was inspired by the vastness of the ocean. The result is a collection of piano meditations full of contrasts: "With swirls and eddies, sometimes slow and sometimes fast," is how Maassen describes his music. "Feather", which he wrote for his sick father, is fragile and reduced. The track "Fjara" playfully draws a beach scene with seagulls circling over the ocean. In contrast, the title track "Ocean" is a song of cinematic density - the sonification of the ocean in its full power.
