The content of the new edition has not changed. It is now considered certain that Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) is important for the long-term success of organizations. OCB subscribes to conduct that is not defined by the duties in the employment contract and is therefore voluntary. The analysis is no longer limited to individuals in organisations, but also to the behaviour in and of working groups (OCBG). Against this background, the author points out ways of influencing OCBs without neglecting the economic goals of organizations through the design of working groups supported by appropriate communication and leadership as coordination instruments. Starting with an "ideal working group", a method is presented that allows existing working groups to assess their potential social behaviour.
