When the harsh winter and famine claim the first victims among the inhabitants of a small island in the Bering Sea, the three Inuit Simon, Paul and Vincent go hunting despite all the dangers. They are secretly joined by the white girl Angie. Then disaster strikes: the ice sheet connecting the mainland and the sea breaks and cuts off their way back - the four of them are now adrift on a huge ice floe in the middle of the sea.
