Autumn 1963: After passing their high school exams, Celine, Alex, Louis, and Paul spend the following days in a frenzy, driving around in Louis' father's old Hudson, taking boat trips on the lake, going to the cinema, turning night into day, drinking too much wine, and passionately debating the meaning of life. Paul, in love with Celine, discreetly seeks her company, while Alex, projecting his own desire for Celine, believes she wants to sleep with him, and Louis plays his games with her behind his Jack Kerouac mask.
