Endometriosis is one of the most common women's diseases. Estimates suggest that 10 percent of all women are affected. In Germany, about 40,000 women are diagnosed each year. The condition is one of the main causes of infertility. Often, endometriosis is diagnosed very late or not at all, even though it severely impacts life in all areas, such as relationships, sexual life, family planning, and work, due to symptoms like intense pain and chronic exhaustion. Martina Liel is personally affected. In addition to the unbearable pain, she also struggled with the pain of not being understood, the frustration over trivializing or even incorrect representations, and the ignorance from some doctors. In this book, she shares her story and aims to encourage others on their paths to self-healing.
