Kazuo Iwamura, born in 1939 in Tokyo, studied industrial design at the National University of Fine Arts and Music in Tokyo. He quickly became known as an illustrator of many successful picture books in Japan. His picture books have received multiple awards. Today, Kazuo Iwamura lives in Mashiko-machi, Tochigi Prefecture, Japan.
