Kenneth N. Waltz

Although the neorealist theory, as developed by Kenneth N. Waltz in 1979, is part of the canon of every introductory lecture on international politics at German universities, significant misunderstandings regarding the claims, scope, and methodological foundations of neorealist theory persist to this day. Kenneth Waltz's introductory book on neorealist theory aims to eliminate these misunderstandings in two ways. On one hand, it provides an introduction to the theory of neorealism developed by Kenneth Waltz. This not only references Waltz's central work, "Theory of International Politics," but also traces the development of Waltz's thinking from its beginnings in 1959 to his most recent publications as an emeritus professor.
