Product details

The book continues the efforts of the 600th anniversary (1417/2017) of Niklaus von Flüe. Based on a re-examination of the sources by researchers Werner T. Huber, Othmar Frei, and Roland Gröbli, Dorothee (originally Dorothea) is regarded as a historically identifiable person, recently elevated as a family woman, equal partner, and protector of the saint of Ranft. Her questions are posed by the composer Joel von Moos in the Dorothea Cantata, showcasing a modern and nuanced understanding of marriage. Furthermore, the book includes groundbreaking speeches about Niklaus from notable figures such as Albert Gasser, Gabriela Lischer, Urs Altermatt, Peter von Matt, and Kathrin Benz. A Ranft pedagogy invites readers to descend into the Ranft as a place of power, explore their own center, rediscover the Brother Klaus prayer, and decipher the meditation image. The youth are addressed as ambassadors among other young people and during the annual emotional Ranft meeting. Additionally, Brother Klaus is examined from an ecumenical perspective, particularly from the Reformed side, highlighting his predominantly mystical-political impact (1482). Interreligious perspectives allow for viewing Brother Klaus in the context of meditative practices in Buddhism and among Sufi monks. The book is characterized by 42 relatively short and meaningful contributions from 5 female authors and 16 male authors.
