Product details
For Ola Hansson, Nietzsche was a rebel and revolutionary as both a poet and philosopher. Reading Nietzsche helped him overcome the life crisis following the scandal surrounding Sensitiva amorosa. The prose poem Ung Ofegs visor (1889), Ola Hansson's personal Zarathustra poem, is also a reckoning with cowardly silent friends. Ola Hansson was stimulated and inspired by Nietzsche; he was not an epigone. The essays included in this volume, Friedrich Nietzsche and Friedrich Nietzsche and Naturalism, are largely historical documents. The first essay from 1889/1890 outlines Nietzsche's life and work and celebrates the German thinker in a partly hymnal and passionate language. The second contribution (from 1890) clarifies, in a more objective tone, Nietzsche's counter-position to the prevailing naturalistic currents of the time. Ola Hansson was the first ever to do so.
