Nicht bei Trost

Franz Dodel has been writing his unique endless poem "Nicht bei Trost" for over 20 years, which has now grown to over 40,000 verses with alternating 5 and 7 syllables. Every day, the author works on the textual fabric that spins on as if by itself, which is not orientated towards endings, destinations and suspicious messengers of consolation, but rather towards the openness of rambling reflection and sensual observation. The calm rhythmic flow of words combines the abundance of Dodel's images and quotations, biographical fragments of memory and contemplation of nature into a light-footed meditation on God, the world and the self. The now available eighth part "Nicht bei Trost. Sondagen" comprises verses 42,001-48,000 and is published in the same design as the previous volumes: the finest thin paper in a supple leather fibre binding.
