Richard Neutra (1892-1970), originally from Vienna, moved to America at the beginning of his career and settled in California. His influence on post-war architecture is undeniable. The cool, elegant style suited the sunny climate and lush landscape of his adopted home.

Neutra had a keen sense of the relationship between humans and nature. His characteristic glass walls and ceilings, which extend into deep overhangs, create a connection between the interior and the exterior. Neutra's talent for blending technology, aesthetics, science, and nature made him a leading figure in modernist architecture. This volume presents all of Richard Neutra's works (nearly 300 private homes, schools, and public buildings) with over 1,000 photographs, including shots by Julius Shulman and other renowned photographers.
