Dick Awards, the three most prestigious prizes in the genre. Moreover, he not only coined the terms matrix and cyberspace, but he also established an entire genre: cyberpunk.

The net is ubiquitous, cyberspace has become a second reality, dominated by AIs and fiercely contested by massive corporate complexes, hackers, and criminals. It is a realm that offers unimaginable possibilities, but also a place where the law of the jungle prevails, and where ethics and morality are long outdated concepts.

After a botched job, young hacker Case seems to have lost all hope for his dreams. His nervous system is damaged, making access to cyberspace impossible. There appear to be no prospects for healing, but then Case receives a new assignment, one that is supposed to turn things around. The only question is, for whom?.
