Neue Technologien in der Pflege
German, Anne Kunze Meiner, Arne Manzeschke, Björn Sellemann, Christine Moeller-Bruker, Julia Petersen, Thomas Klie, 2020Product details
The digitalization of professional care aligns with the rapid technological development occurring worldwide. Digitalization has long made its way into both the workplace and private life. We are currently in the second wave of digitalization and are on the brink of the third. Virtual reality, smart homes, robotics, and deep learning are being researched and even implemented in care and health. The federal government is strongly promoting technological development due to demographic changes, including through nationwide innovation centers. Numerous projects are also taking place at the European level to find solutions and leverage synergies. There is great hope that care technologies can address future challenges in caregiving. At the same time, there is a lack of fundamental knowledge in the industry to both understand technology and make it comprehensible for those affected. This work addresses the basics of the topic of care and technology, presents fields of application for new technologies in care, critically examines the advantages and limitations of these technologies, and highlights the new, changed tasks that arise for caregivers.
