Product details
It is well known that horses are flight animals and perceive their environment very differently than we humans do. This knowledge serves as a solid foundation upon which we can build. However, the big question that arises in any communication with horses is: "What do I do with this information? How does it help me when the horse, despite all my efforts, does not do what I want, or perhaps even does the exact opposite?"
The list of what horses are expected to do for us humans is long and includes many things that are not in their nature, such as standing still for the farrier, going on a relaxed ride with a human as their only companion, traveling in a horse trailer, or performing confidently in unfamiliar surroundings at a competition, to name just a few examples. Horses can undoubtedly learn all of this, provided we teach them in a way that they can understand. However, this often goes wrong. We humans tend to take our perspective in training and follow the logical path we see. The result is more or less significant misunderstandings and frustration for both horse and human. In the worst case, the horse may become genuinely depressed over time or react with increasing aggression.
All of this can be avoided: a change of perspective is the solution. Andrea Kutsch has gained deeper insights into the thought patterns and learning behaviors of horses through her scientific work and has developed the EBEC® (Evidence Based Equine Communication) method based on this. This scientifically grounded, horse-centered training focuses on viewing situations from the horse's perspective and making learning stress-free. In her new book, Andrea Kutsch describes numerous concrete situations in which problems can be solved using this method. The principle: behavior that is undesirable from a human perspective is first analyzed and regarded for what it truly is.
